Eugenia Choi, Violin

As the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra continues its amazing educational and community outreach concerts, they are excited to announce their upcoming Chamber Orchestra Concert at the Playhouse Theatre in April.
This concert will feature Canada’s own internationally acclaimed violinist, Eugenia Choi, alongside our resident conductor, Stuart Martin, who will make his debut in the Chamber Orchestra series.
The first four years of the VMO’s existence focused on Chamber String Orchestra concerts, so it’s especially meaningful for the VMO to return to their original roots.
Also featured on the program will be the world premiere of a new piece inspired by Eden Robinson’s novel Son of a Trickster, composed by our composer-in-residence, Aidan Mulldoon Wong. Stuart Martin will lead the orchestra through most of the program, including David Diamond’s Round for String Orchestra and Albinoni’s Adagio in G minor.
Maestro Ken Hsieh will conduct several short pieces to complement the performance. This will be the VMO’s second appearance at the Vancouver Playhouse, an intimate venue that promises to provide a memorable evening of chamber music.
