Gregorius: The Holy Sinner Benjamin Bagby, known for his performance of Beowulf, returns with the astonishing medieval verse epic Gregorius, “The Holy Sinner” alongside members of his medieval music ensemble Sequentia, Jasmina Črnčič and leiken. January 17 | Vancouver Playhouse VOCES8: Draw on Sweet Night The English a cappella octet VOCES8 are known for their impeccable tone quality, balance, and stunning performances ranging from the Renaissance to today. February 14 | Chan Centre   Bach Ties the Knot with Dorothee Mields & the PBO German soprano Dorothee Mields joins the Pacific Baroque Orchestra for a programme of wedding-related music by J.S. Bach, including his Cantata BWV 202 “Weichet nur”. February 15 | St. Andrew’s-Wesley Huehuetenango: Music from 16th-Century Guatemala Argentine early music specialists Jonatan Alvarado and Ariel Abramovich explore music from northwest Guatemala in the late 16th century. February 16 | Pacific Spirit United   The Early Moderns with Quicksilver Baroque Quicksilver Baroque Ensemble, known for their “impeccable, soulful playing” (The New York Times) return to Vancouver to present a programme exploring the musical revolutions of the Early Modern period. March 21 | St. Andrew’s Wesley Dmitry Ablogin in Concert Fortepianist Dmitry Ablogin pairs Beethoven’s masterful Six Bagatelles with Mendelssohn’s E Major Sonata, his homage to Beethoven, alongside music by John Field and Hummel. March 29 | Vancouver Playhouse   Doulce Mémoire: Now, Let Us Dance! Ensemble Doulce Mémoire joins forces with dancer and choreographer Hubert Hazebroucq to show you what dances were really like in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. April 12 | Vancouver Playhouse Stefano Maiorana: Secret Pages of Venice Experience the rich musical heritage of Venice through a captivating concert program featuring works by Kapsberger and Ambrosini, performed by virtuoso theorbo player Stefano Maiorana. April 26 | Pacific Spirit United   Estuary with Ensemble Constantinople Kora master Ablaye Cissoko and ambassador of Persian setar, Kiya Tabassian create a musical soundscape of their respective cultures, accompanied by percussionist Patrick Graham.
